There are 37 compartments consisting of numbers, 1 through 36, including the Zero. There is no Double Zero.

The European wheel rotates the colors black and red, like the American wheel does. It rotates high and low numbers, unlike the American wheel.

The numbers are in a different order than the American wheel. On the wheel the numbers face inside, contrary to the American wheel.

Tips For Roulette On The European Layout

The layout usually is the same as the American one, only with one Zero (0). Sometimes it is a little different.

Most of the time, you find a single zero Roulette wheel with two layouts for making your bets. You find one croupier (dealer) who spins the wheel and two croupiers on each side of the layouts.

These two croupiers on each side check the layouts and help you with placing your bets.

Tips For Roulette On European Roulette Checks

European Roulette uses the same color of checks for every player. The croupiers should have a great memory to remember which bet belongs to which player. It can cause confusion.

You find all kind of checks at the table, regular (round) checks, oval checks, rectangular checks.

The croupiers use a rake or stick, to clean losing checks from the table and for making payoffs. You also find three to four croupiers attending a single layout, a table.

Also the checks are not stacked, in twenties, like American Roulette. They are in racks on the table. Usually, you buy your playing checks at the casino cage (caissier).

The Table

There is seating for 12 to 16 players at the table

Variations of the Roulette Games in Europe

If you visit British casinos, you see roulette tables identified as American Roulette, British Roulette and French Roulette.

American Roulette has a zero and double zero. All players have different color checks so your bets can be identified. You are allowed to tip the croupier.

If you win, you have to pay the casino a juice (vig) and if you tip the croupier, you have to pay a tax on top of the house juice. Do you love this? That's called American Roulette in Britain. This is a fast game.

British Roulette has a single zero, like European Roulette. Players have different colors of checks, too. You can distinguish your bets from other players'.

You are not allowed to tip the croupiers. If you win, you have to pay the casino a minimal juice. This is also a fast game.

Note:

Because of the fact that the players have different color checks, it is also designated as American Roulette.

French Roulette is a game with class and elegance. It is played all around France and other glamorous casinos around the world.
