Las Vegas By Air
Getting to Las Vegas by air is the easiest and fastest way. The City of Las Vegas airport is called McCarren International Airport or LAS (national) or KLAS (international). It is close to the Las Vegas Strip and about 8 miles from Downtown. It serves many domestic and international airlines, and several discount airlines. There are many cheap flights to Las Vegas, and many good Las Vegas vacation packages are available, too. The City of Las Vegas airport is among the top 10 busiest airports in the world. It serves 40 plus air carriers with direct flights to over 125 cities nationwide. It has over 1,200 flights coming in and going out daily. So it is easy for you to travel to Las Vegas by air, but Las Vegas flights are usually packed coming in as well as going out. The lights of the City of Las Vegas offer a nice view to those flying in after dark. The modern and exceptional Las Vegas airport has slot machines in the gambling area of all the terminals. It has speed check machines so you can obtain a boarding pass without going to an airline counter. The Las Vegas Convention Center also has speed check machines for boarding passes. All public areas of the Las Vegas airport have free WI-Fi. There is even a free Las Vegas entertainment, a small aviation museum located on level 2. There are about 30 restaurants, lounges and snack bars and over 52 shops at the Las Vegas airport for a good Las Vegas shopping. Las Vegas Taxis
The Las Vegas taxi line is very well set up at McCarren Airport. You will be given instructions. There is a $1.20 charge on all fares starting at the Las Vegas airport. The maximum number of passengers allowed in a taxi-cab is five, including children and infants.
Las Vegas Car Rental
All rental car clientèle coming into the City of Las Vegas by air are transported from the Las Vegas airport to the rental car center. A reservation is not needed. The center is about 2 miles or 7 minutes from the airport. The exit doors for the pick-up shuttles to the McCarren Rent-A-Car Center are # 10 or # 11 from the baggage area. A Las Vegas airport shuttle leaves about every 5 minutes for the center. The center is open 24 hours, 7 days a week. There is a list of the car rental companies using this service. If your rental car company is not listed, your rental car company will pick you up at the Rent-A-Car Center (outside exit doors # 10 or # 11). The center also has speed check machines for your flight, and you can check your luggage, and get your boarding pass since there. There is a fee for checking bags. Las Vegas Limousines
You can also take a limousine from the Las Vegas airport for about $43 and up. There is a flat fee to the Las Vegas Strip hotels. Many of the hotels have their own courtesy shuttle bus services to and from the Las Vegas airport, but it is cheaper to take the Airport shuttles. Note:
