Marjorie Barrick Museum


Great museum at the University of Nevada in the City of Las Vegas.

The Marjorie Barrick Museum Of Natural History is located in the complex of the University Of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) at 4505 Maryland Parkway. That's at the corner of Swenson and Harmon Avenue, not far away from the Las Vegas Strip.

After you have experienced some gambling lessons, take the family to this museum for a visit.

The exhibit "Day of the Dead" is on display through January and February of 2010. The exhibition is about the native cultures of the American Southwestand Mesoamerica.

There are several hands-on activities in the lobby. This includes archaeology digging that Kids and adults will have fun doing.

Take a look at the Xeric Garden. An outdoor exhibit of plants from the American deserts as well as plants from other desert parts of the world.

Operating hours are
Monday through Friday,
from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

Saturdays,
from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Closed on
Sundays,
State and
Federal Holidays.

Admission is free.

Note:
There is a free suggested donation of $5 and
seniors 62 and over $2.
