You can take a taxi. Rent a car if you are going to do some sightseeing.

The CAT (The Citizen Area Transport).

You can also get around in Vegas by taking the CAT. The CAT services the City Of Las Vegas.

Its routes run from 5:30 a.m. until 1:30 a.m.

Some routes -including the Las Vegas Strip and Downtown routes- are 24 hours per day.

The regular fares are

For adults, 18 years and over, $2 or two tokens (regular bus).
For the Deuce it is $3. The Deuce is a double decker bus.
There is a 24 Hours Pass for $5.

Special fares are

For senior citizens, 60 years and over, $1 or one token.
For kids, 6 through 17 years, $1 or one token.
The Deuce is $1.50 or two tokens.
Kids 5 years old and under are free.

You get tokens or tickets from the driver or at the vending machines.

Note:
The Cat has special routes for special events at the Sam Boyd Stadium.

Around In Vegas With The Las Vegas Monorail

The Las Vegas monorail system is behind the hotels on the east side of the Strip. It goes to the Las Vegas Convention Center, too. It is about a 15 minute ride.

It goes from the Tropicana Hotel Las Vegas to the Sahara Hotel Las Vegas.

Operating Hours the Las Vegas Monorail are

Monday through Thursday,
from 7 a.m. to 2 a.m.

Friday through Sunday,
from 7 a.m. to 3 a.m.

Ticket Prices:

A Single Ride Ticket costs $5.
A 2-Ride Ticket costs $9. You can share this ticket.
A 6-Ride Ticket costs $20. You can share this ticket.

An Unlimited One Day Pass Ticket costs $9 (special). You cannot share this ticket.
An Unlimited Three Day Pass Ticket costs $28. You cannot share this ticket.
Kids 5 and under are free.

Around In Vegas With Open Top Sightseeing Las Vegas

Open Top Sightseeing Las Vegas operates on the Las Vegas Strip only.

Tickets are valid for two consecutive days.
The cost is $35 for adults.
Kids 4 to 12 $18.
Kids 4 and under free.

Walking

You can also walk the Las Vegas Strip, but expect to do some serious walking. Everything is farther than it looks. Downtown is an easier walk.
