Razz

This is how Razz or Seven-Card Stud Low and Ace-To-Five Low-ball work.

In this poker game the player showing the lowest hand wins the entire pot. Straights and Flushes do not harm the low hand.

Aces always count for low in Seven-Card Stud Low.

This poker game is almost the same as Seven-Card Stud (High Stud). Some differences are the highest Card must start the action (the bring-in bet) on the first round of betting.

Note:
If two or more players are tied for high card, again the suit breaks the tie. Now it is in the opposite direction of Seven-Card Stud (high Stud), so it is from high to low:

Spades,
Hearts,
Diamonds,
Clubs.

Highest Card, Poker

The King of Spades is the highest card in this poker game.

On all the following betting rounds, the player with the lowest hand will start the action (betting). With a tie in the low hand, the first player left (clockwise) of the dealer acts first.

The best hand a player can show in this game is 5-4-3-2-Ace, or a five-high straight. It is also called a Wheel or Bicycle. The next best hand is 6-4-3-2-Ace and so on.

Pairs and trips are not good. Any hand with no pair beats any hand with a pair. Also, one pair beats two pairs and trips and so on.

Note:
Trips means "Three of a Kind," or a "Set."

Here with an open pair on fourth street, a player does not have the choice to bet the upper limit.

Ace-To-Five Low-ball

Ace-To-Five Low-ball is the same thing, but it is a draw poker game, and Razz is a stud poker game. It is played like Five-Card Draw. Each player receives a total of five cards, There is a betting round, then the players draw (replace) as many cards they want to, follow by another betting round, and then is the Showdown.

Generally every player has to put a bet (ante) before dealing any card. The real difference is Low-ball is played with five cards (5-Card Draw), and Razz is played with seven cards (7-Card Stud).

Sometimes a joker is used in Ace-To-Five. The joker is the lowest card in a hand that does not make a pair. A 5-4-3-2-joker is a wheel.

Most Vegas casinos don’t offer Low-ball games.
